iTRAC: Set AES Browser as Default Browser
The AES Browser restricts
students’ internet access to sites that have been authorized by the teacher.
Students can access the AES Browser from within the Current Event and
Timeline activities. Students can navigate to “authorized” sites and can copy
article text for incorporation into their Current Event and Timeline reports.
To use the AES Browser as the
default browser on the student workstations and/or the lab management
station, follow the steps below.
At the lab management station,
do the following:
§
From the iTRAC Virtual Desktop, click Lab Setup.
§
In the left bank of icons, click the Internet icon.
§
Under Default
Browser Settings, select the appropriate browser for the workstation
and/or the lab management station. The selected browser must be loaded on the
stations in order for the selection to function properly.
§
Under AES
Browser Settings, selecting Allow students access to web pages on the local drive(s)
will allow students to use web pages that are loaded on the hard drive(s).
AES recommends that you leave this option selected. Some modules include web
sites that are stored on the local drive.
The browser settings will take
effect at the workstations the next time the AES program (TC21, BC21, LC21,
or CC21) is restarted.
