webTRAC: Authorize Web Sites in AES Internet Browser With the AES Internet Browser open, use the following to authorize a web site: 1. Open the AES Internet Browser. 2. If needed, open the Teacher Mode toolbar. The Teacher Mode toolbar automatically opens if you open the AES Internet Browser from webTRAC Manager. § On the right side of the AES Internet Browser toolbar, double-click the AES icon. § Enter your Teacher ID and Password. § Click OK. Notice that a new toolbar appears below the Address: field. This is the Teacher Mode toolbar. 3. Click Add Authorized Sites. The Add Authorized Site dialog box will appear. 4. Under Authorized Site, make sure the title for the Web site is shown in the Title: box. If the title is not shown or you wish to update it, type a title in the box. 5. In the URL: box, enter the site you wish to authorize by typing the address without the www. and without the extension (e.g., .org, .com, .edu). For example, to authorize the site www.lakeview.edu, you would type lakeview. 6.
Authorize the
site by selecting the Group. § System: Web sites added to the System level can be accessed by all students using the webTRAC system. If a Web site is authorized on the System level, it does not need to be authorized on the Class or Unit level. Only a webTRAC Administrator can add System-level Web sites. § Class: Web sites added to the Class level can be accessed only by students in a specific teacher’s class. Students in other teachers’ classes will not be able to access the Web site. § Unit: Web sites added to the Unit level can be accessed only by students using a specific unit. Students using other units will not be able to access the Web site. 7. Click Save and Close. The dialog box will close. 8. On the Teacher toolbar, click Close teacher’s toolbar. |
