webTRAC: Create and Activate a Daily Password

Teachers can create daily passwords to allow students access to restricted areas. Daily passwords can enable students to:

§         Print forms in the Curriculum Viewer.

§         Access a test or exam.

§         Exit from the Curriculum Viewer to the computer desktop.

To set up and activate a daily password:

1.       In the webTRAC Manager, open Lab Setup.

2.       On the left side of the screen, click to open the Student Options page.

3.       Click the Security Settings tab.

4.
On the right side of the screen in Help, click Create Daily Password. Review the information in Help.

5.       After Daily Password, click Change. Type the new password as instructed.

6.       Click the down-arrow to select a Time-Out Length.  The maximum time out length available for Daily Passwords is five days.

7.       Click Activate Password. You may not want to activate the time out length for the Daily Password until closer to the time that you want students to be able to use it.

8.       If you are using the Daily Password for student entry, click to select the Allow Daily password to be used to enter new students into the system during logon option.

After activating a daily password, share the password with the students. Students can use the daily password until it expires. When the daily password expires, students can no longer use it to access restricted areas.

Your teacher password will always override a daily password.
