webTRAC: Client
Setup (Install)
Run client setup at student, teacher, or resource
stations in the following instances:
§
Set up and install a new computer station.
§
Upgrade the lab software at the server
station.
§
Make updates in the webTRAC Administration
area.
At each
CLIENT STATION (student, teacher, and resource stations), do the
following:
1.
Disable all security at the station.
2.
Open Microsoft® Internet
Explorer. Delete the text in the address field and type http://SERVER:8080/setup
(where “SERVER” is the IP address of the
computer where the webTRAC Server software is running). Press Enter.
3.
Select the installation option.

If installing a student or resource station,
click Load Student.
§
If installing a teacher station, click Load Teacher.
4.
When asked to open the file or save it to
your computer, click Open.
5.
Follow any additional on-screen
instructions. After the initial installation, the media resources will be
downloaded. Make sure all media resources download. Note: For an initial
installation, this may take a long time.
WARNING:
When downloading, do NOT reboot the computer, even if prompted (if asked,
select “NO”), until after the download is complete.
