webTRAC: Grade Student Work

The Journal Viewer method allows you to assess work when students or teams are not logged-on to the system. The Journal Viewer method is ideal in the following situations:

§         When you want to quickly assess the work of multiple students.

§         When you want to quickly assess or add comments to student work in multiple assessment categories, including key questions, rubrics, checklists, participation, or other teacher-evaluated categories.

§         When students are not logged on to Curriculum Viewer.       


The following instructions can be completed at a teacher station:

1.       In the webTRAC Manager, open the Grade Book.

2.       On the left side of the screen, click to open the Grades or Student Information page.

3.       Use one of the following methods to open a student’s journal:

§         On the Grades page, click to select a student or a grade and then click Journal in the toolbar.

§         On the Student Information page, click to select a student in the Student Name list, and then click Journal in the toolbar.

4.       In the Journal Viewer, click to select the unit name.

5.       Click to select the assessment category.

§         To review the student’s answers to the Key Questions, click Key Questions.

§         To review the test questions, click Unit Test.

§         To add a participation grade, click Participation. To add an assessment to another teacher-evaluated assessment category, such as a form, checklist, or rubric, click the name of the assessment.

§        

Use the Journal Viewer to view student answers to lesson questions and other assessment categories.


To review the lesson questions, click Lessons, and then click to select the lesson title.

6.       Using Help as a reference, view individual answers or add assessments.
