iTRAC: Rebuild GLOBAL Grade Book (020m)

The 020m Grade Book database contains grades, student list, class information and module information. In extreme circumstances a global (lab-wide) copy of the 020m database can become corrupt. Reloading the global copy of the grade book will replace the corrupt global database with an empty grade book database. While certain aspects of the Grade Book can be rebuilt, such as student grades, other data will be irrevocably lost including:

§         Overridden grades.

§         Teacher modules.

§         Schedules.

NOTE:  Always consult with AES Client Services at support@aeseducation.com or at (800) 220-2175, x. 8 before attempting to reload a corrupt database—especially a Grade Book (020m) Global.  Irreversible data loss will occur during this process.

1.       Click Start Ü Programs Ü TechCenter21 Ü Toolbox and enter your teacher password.

2.       Double-click Customer Service Utilities.

3.       Click Reload Files.

4.       Click Critical.

5.       Select Grade Book (020m) Global, and then click the green running man. Follow the on-screen prompts. An empty grade book will replace any other grade book files. WARNING: All student data, including files and grades, will be deleted from the system.

6.       Click Inbox Utilities.

7.       Click Load Inbox. Wait until you see a finished message. Note that this may take awhile and will appear as if nothing is happening.

8.       Click OK, and then exit Utilities and then exit the Toolbox.

9.       Start the iTRAC Management System at your teacher station. Note that this may take longer than usual. The grade book is being rebuilt.

10.    Open your Grade Book. While each class will be shown, you will not see any module grades. In order to show module grades, you will need to set up all of your modules to show in the grade book.

§         Open the Lab Setup area.

§         On the left side of the screen, click to open the Class Periods page.

§         Select the class period.

§         In the Course drop-down list, select Your Class. Your Class will display the modules loaded in your lab.

§         For each module you want to list in your Grade Book, click to select Show in Grade Book.

§         In the top left toolbar, click the Save Class Period icon.

§         Repeat these steps for each class period.
