iTRAC: Getting Ready for New Students
Between semesters or marking periods, teachers need
to get ready for a new set of students.
NOTE: AES strongly recommends that teachers use Lab
Setup section of the Course Guide
to fully set up their lab.
Option 1: Set up new classes for the new students
Some teachers prefer to create new class periods
and keep existing students in their original class periods.
1. In
Lab Setup, open the Class Periods page.
2. In
the top left toolbar, click the New
Class Period icon.
3. Enter
the Period and Title.
4. In
the top left toolbar, click the Save
Class Period icon.
5. In
the Course drop-down list, select your class. Your Class will display the modules loaded
in your lab.
6. For
each module you want to list in your Grade Book, click to select Show in Grade Book.
7. In
the top left toolbar, click the Save
Class Period icon.
Option 2: Delete current students from original
classes
Some teachers prefer to reuse
class periods and do not need to archive existing student data. In this case,
students need to be deleted from the system.
§
If you are not in the Grade Book area, open
the Grade Book.
§
Click a student’s name. Or to select all of
the students, click the Select All
icon in the top toolbar.
§
On the top toolbar, click Delete. WARNING: All student data, including files and
grades, will be deleted from the system. Once deleted, there is no way to
retrieve the data.
Option 3: Move students out of original classes into
an archival area
Some teachers prefer to reuse
class periods and archive student data. To reuse class periods and retain
student data, students need to be moved from the original class.
§
If you are not in the Grade Book area, open
the Grade Book.
§
Click a student’s name. Or to select all of
the students, click the Select All
icon in the top toolbar.
§
Right-click the name(s), and then click Remove Student(s)From Class.
§
Click Yes to move the student to the N/A
class. NOTE: Students are not deleted from the system. Instead they are Unassigned
to any classes, but still saved in the system.
