This module provides an overview of tasks involved in finding, getting, and resigning from a job.
The Job Seeking Skills module is designed according to the AES course framework, which includes four phases:

Activity: Job Interview Role Playing
In this activity students play people in a job interview script to them thinking about the topic.
Activity: Job Seeking Scenario and Discussion
In this activity, students can read a scenario about someone seeking a job and then answer questions concerning the scenario. A class discussion can follow.
Unit 1: Entering the Workforce
In this unit, students will learn about federal and state laws regarding minors in the workforce. In addition, students will learn about finding work as an adult, including developing job criteria, finding job openings, and an overview of the Equal Opportunity Employment law.

Unit 2: Applications and Resumes
In this unit, students will learn about: searching and applying for jobs, including developing job criteria, finding job openings, Equal Opportunity Employment, job applications, and resumes. They will fill out a job application and create a resume.

Unit 3: Interviews and Resignations
In this unit, students learn about: interview techniques, why people resign, and resignation letters.

Activity: Questions and Discussion
In this activity, students will journal about job seeking related topics such as filling out applications, preparing for an interview and how to resign from a current job. A class discussion on these topics.
Activity: Research Job Listings
In this activity, students will research three job listings in their career fields of choice. They will answer questions about location, job level, salary, and education requirements.
Activity: Current Event
Students will review articles for information related to a topic in the module. Once an article is found, students complete a Current Event form.
