Unit: Substance Abuse and Health Risks
In this class activity, students list drugs used by teenagers and young adults as they are written on a board and placed into categories. The class can discuss things such as what the drugs look like and what they do to the mind and body.

Unit: Preparing and Administering Medication
In this unit, students will learn about: calculating solid and liquid medication dosages and dosage by weight. They explore guidelines for proper administration and administer medication orally, topically, transdermally and rectally.

In this unit, students will learn about: the equipment used to give injections, how to properly read a syringe, prepare and administer injections, and their role in intravenous therapy.

Unit: Reflection Questions and Discussion
In this activity, students work individually to journal about medicinal uses for drugs, interpreting medical orders, avoiding medication errors, working with children, and safety precautions for administering parenteral medication. A class discussion on these topics can follow.
Unit: Culture and Religious Research
In this project, students work individually to research a culture or religion that is different from their own, focusing on healthcare and medicine beliefs. Then students present their research to the class.
Unit: Current Event
Students will review articles for information related to a topic in the module. Once an article is found, students complete a Current Event form.
