In this module, students will learn the basics of Google Sheets. This includes understanding rows and columns, selecting cells, entering formulas, using functions, and formatting data and text.
In addition to the online learning, each module includes unit quizzes and a comprehensive module test to assess the students. Worksheets are also provided to the students, which can be filled out as they progress through the lessons. These worksheets are a handy study guide for the quizzes and tests.
Students first learn about cells, rows and columns, and how these are referenced. They become familiar with Google Sheets by creating a new file and entering numbers and text into the spreadsheet. Next, they learn about formulas and practice entering them in a spreadsheet. Students also learn about relative and absolute cell references. Finally, students learn about functions. They practice using several functions, including the IF conditional function, in a spreadsheet.
