Google Slides Fundamentals Overview

In this module, students will learn the basics of Google Slides. This includes using templates, changing themes and layouts, spell checking, adding and moving slides, creating text boxes, inserting WordArt and images, cropping images, defining hyperlinks, and more. Students will learn these skills by completing several hands on activities.

In addition to the online learning, each module includes unit quizzes and a comprehensive module test to assess the students. Worksheets are also provided to the students, which can be filled out as they progress through the lessons. These worksheets are a handy study guide for the quizzes and tests.

Unit 1: Introduction to Google Slides

Students start by learning how to begin a presentation using templates and themes, and how to change layouts. They go further by creating a presentation that lists the pros and cons of two vacation ideas. In this activity students insert new slides, change layouts, use and format text boxes, insert images, and spell check the presentation. In the final lesson, students cover how to create effective presentations and continue to learn more skills, such as using slide Notes.
