There have been many updates and additions to Business&ITCenter21 and HealthCenter21 over the past few months. We'd like to give you an overview of everything that has been added to keep you "in the know." 

New Features and Options

1. Renamed Tabs

You may have noticed that within your courses, the tab names changed. We made this change to help you easily get to the right place for the information you want. Instead of Overview, Student List, and Grade Grid the tabs are now Assignments, Students, and Grades. You will also see these links on the Home screen. 

2. Electronic Worksheets

Did you know you can now allow your students to complete the worksheets online instead of printing them out? This setting can be turned on for any course you choose.

3. Showing Points or Percentages for Grades

The Grades tab now lets you see points or percentages for quiz and test grades. This will make it easier for some of you to transfer grades from AES to the master grade book for your school.

4. Assign a Zero for Incomplete Work

We are happy to announce that you can now assign a "0" in the Grades tab when a student does not complete a quiz or test. 

5. Set Quiz Prerequisites

Do you have trouble with students skipping lessons and going straight to the quiz? With this new Student Pacing feature, you will be able to block students from taking quizzes until they complete all lessons within the unit. Learn more here: New Feature - Quiz Prerequisites

6. Include in Module Option

On the Assignments tab, when you click on a module, there is a new checkbox option for "Include in Module."

7. New Organization of the Settings Tab

The setting tab has been organized into new groups. This was done because the newer features we are adding (such as Quiz Prerequisites) require settings and the original list was getting too long.

Content Updates and Additions for HealthCenter21

 

1. CPR Methods Module - 2015 AHA Edition

The AHA Guidelines for 2015 include some important changes involving activation of EMS from mobile phones and timely use of an AED. The AES CPR Methods module was updated to incorporate these changes, as well as other updates and corrections. Learn more about switching to the 2015 version here: CPR Methods 2015

2. Domestic Violence Module

Healthcare professionals at some point will encounter victims of domestic violence. Because of this, many health science teachers have shared they are in need of domestic violence curriculum to teach their students about this important and difficult topic. Learn more: Domestic Violence Curriculum

3. Shock and Resuscitation Module Update

The AHA Guidelines for 2015 include some important changes involving activation of EMS from mobile phones and timely use of an AED. The AES Shock and Resuscitation Module was updated to incorporate these changes, as well as other updates and corrections. These changes were automatically added to the existing module - there is no action you need to take.

1. Google Applications Fundamentals

Many computer applications and business teachers have shared that they are in need of Google Apps lesson plans to teach their students to use these cloud-based applications. Luckily for our teachers, the Google Applications Fundamentals module is now available! 2. Google Docs Fundamentals

In this module, students will learn about the basics of Google Docs, including how to format text and paragraphs and change the document layout. Students will also use available tools such as the Research and Define tools. Learn more: Google Docs Fundamentals

3. Google Sheets Fundamentals

In this module, students will learn the basics of Google Sheets. This includes understanding rows and columns, selecting cells, entering formulas, using functions, and formatting data and text. Learn more about the module: Google Sheets Fundamentals

4. Google Slides Fundamentals

In this module, students will learn the basics of Google Slides. This includes using templates, changing themes and layouts, spell checking, adding and moving slides, creating text boxes, inserting WordArt and images, cropping images, defining hyperlinks, and more.
