Job Seeking Skills in Healthcare Module Updates

The modern workplace has undergone many changes and your students expect their curriculum to be relevant to today’s job searching process. The updated Job Seeking Skills in Healthcare module reflects changes in the job market and how students must prepare to find their first or next job.

What’s Included in the Revamped Job Seeking Skills Module?

job-seeking-skills-healthcareIn the revamped Job Seeking Skills in Healthcare module, students learn about the steps and skills involved in seeking, beginning, and resigning from a job. 

In total, this module includes 11 hours of content across:

  • 1 exploration activity
  • 11 eLearning lessons
  • 4 unit quizzes
  • 1 reflection activity
  • 4 reinforce activities
  • 1 module test

How is the Updated Job Seeking Skills in Healthcare Module Different from the Previous Version?

You’ll notice significant differences in the content of the new version of the module, including a complete revision of the Learn & Practice units.

In the Explore phase, you’ll find a new introduction activity that encourages students to complete a self-assessment to answer the question, “Are You Job Ready?”

The Learn & Practice phase was revised and reorganized to include updated lesson plans, slides, and activities across each unit. Within the updated units, you’ll find content changes that reflect current job seeking, including:

  • Emphasis on how employment benefits individuals and their community
  • Need for a professional media presence and networking
  • Online job searches
  • Applying for jobs online
  • Video interviews

Finally, there are substantial changes to the Reinforce phase. Where there were previously two activities, you’ll find four options for projects you can use at the end of the module or after individual units.

What Do Teachers Need to Do?

The Job Seeking Skills in Healthcare module was automatically updated to reflect the above changes. If you have a class that includes the Job Seeking Skills module, we have already updated it for you.

If you downloaded or printed any materials from the module before July 9, 2022, you may need to redownload them. This includes:

  • Teacher lesson plans
  • Teacher presentations
  • Student worksheets and sample answers
  • Lesson transcripts
  • Quiz answer keys
  • Module Test answer key
  • Student activity resources

Any custom exams created with the previous version of the Job Seeking Skills module may include questions that no longer align with the curriculum content. We recommend you review any current custom exams and either remove the outdated questions or create a new exam

The new module is significantly different from the previous version. If you used the prior version of the Job Seeking Skills module, we recommend that you dive in and explore the module to understand the changes.
